So I used Rabiot as a RCM in 4-1-2-1-2 (2) in weekend league and he was very solid for me. He feels much faster than his normal card and his shots are way better, His tackling is very strong he wins air battles most of the time because of his 6'4" height. He is pretty agile for that height and is good enough on the dribble. also his passing is very good. Only downsides to him are his workrates wich are High ATT and Medium DEF. I would like for him to have Med/Med or High/High. Another weakness is his weak foot, it's 3* and it sure feels like it too. He does get pretty tired after the 75th minute at least for me (I have him Stay back while attack and he still attacks so he is pretty much a box to box player for me). Overall The price of 280k isn't too bad considering you get some packs back (I got two walkouts, Fernandinho and IF Butelle). But I don't think there is that much of a difference between him and his base card, so if you have the money, I would go for it because the shooting upgrade is pretty good and overall some nice improvements. But if you are on a small budget just stick to his normal card it does the job.
I'm writing this review as I was very on the fence about doing this SBC, so hope to help those who are also on the fence.
Rabiot's TOTS card on FIFA 18 was my favourite midfielder on the game, so when this League SBC came out I knew I had to do it.
I completed the SBC on 1st March, pretty much from scratch with only 5/6 Ligue 1 players in my club before hand. At the time of completing, the FUTBIN SBC solutions page had the total price at 310k. With a decent amount of patience on bidding and sniping, the total cost price for me was 179k. Because of the sheer amount of players you get from the 20 packs, you're very likely to get a good chunk of the investment back. I didn't pack anyone special, only a few 85s-87s were of note and estimate that if I was to sell everything (not including fitness cards) I'd make back between 120-140k, meaning Rabiot cost between 40-60k which is nothing short of outrageous. There is no midfielder on the game who comes close to that kind of value for money. I used Rabiot in Div.4 and Weekend League.
Height - definitely his biggest pro. Height is so important on this game, especially for midfielders and it acts as almost a 'hidden stat'. What I mean by that is Rabiot's base stats have him at 85 interceptions, 86 stand tackle and 84 strength. But because of his 6'4 height and long legs, his ability to intercept and win the ball is so much better than a player who is 5'10 with identical stats. His huge frame means he bullies players off the ball with ease, and is excellent at shielding the ball. He wins pretty much everything in the air, including from corners. He is absolutely massive in game which helps him dominate the midfield and his presence is felt from the first game.
Strength - 84 is a flat out lie, feels like 90+.
Defending - as mentioned, his tackling and interceptions feel much better than his stats suggest, and allow him to excel as a CDM.
Passing - very good, short and long.
Dribbling - exceptional considering his height. First touch, dribbling and agility are all the best I've used for a midfielder of his size. He doesn't feel clunky at al and is great at getting out of tight spaces using his combination of close control and strength.
Composure - he just feels so composed in game, extremely reliable to play the ball into under pressure or play out from the back as he rarely makes a mistake.
Long Shots and Shot Power - very powerful and accurate shots from outside the box.
Left footed - I like my left CDM to be left footed.
I can't find many faults in him, but if I had to say some it would be;
86 stamina - hasn't proved to be an issue for me playing him as a CDM in a 4-2-3-1 with balanced defensive tactic, but I imagine if you play any of the 'pressure' defensive tactics he might have to be subbed off in the second half.
Pace - also hasn't been an issue for me, and he's by no means slow, but he isn't quick either. I would recommend being played next to someone like Kante who is quick.
3* Weak foot, 3* skills - in an ideal world he'd have a 4* weak foot, but it doesn't detract from the card.
im telling you right now this card is so OP. he can be played anywhere: CDM,CM and CAM. shadow ups his defending but that leads to him the being fast as well as the best french cdm bar vieira.
he is 10x better than prime petit. imagine pogba+kante.
give him a catalyst and play him at cam
he wins every header every aerial duel
i play him in a 4-3-2-1 along side fabinho. i have a shadow on him but i play him on balanced everything, its as if the shadow ups his strength. he gives van dijk a war. he is equivalemnt to a version of gullit between middle gullit and baby. his 3* /3* is not a major issue as hes like a bulldozer running into people.
his shots-outside the box hes the best but in the box hes still a beast
passing-long/short he will send everything like a postman
